Stamp: Can We Start This Over? by KrisTheTrashLord Stamp: Can We Start This Over? by KrisTheTrashLord
I got this idea for this stamp after reading this comic

I'm going to put a content warning on one of these links. The word "not" directs you to a TERF website and it's transphobic, especially towards transgender females, so be advise when you surf through these links.

"Feminism is equality for everyone and if you are not one, then you are misogynistic!1"

We get it, feminism is for equality. Well, its actual definition is sort of complicated because one definition is "make social, economic, political etc. rights equal for women as they are for men" or "the idea that men and women should be equal."

That seems like a nice thing, right? Well, the third wave movement will change your mind.

Before you tell me "they're not a true feminist" or "not all feminists are like this", let me tell you something:

1. You are part of the problem because you're letting these psychopaths gain a voice by not doing anything about it. Pretty much you're letting them represent the movement. If you don't want that, call them out on their bullshit instead.

2. That's a "No True Scotsman" fallacy you used. You have to face the fact that they labeled themselves as "feminist". You can't just say "no, they are not feminist" because you are not them.

3. Remember when feminists joked about "#notallmen" after the UCSB shooting? They're quick on their feet to make fun of any penis-holders when they say that the shooter doesn't represent the entire male population. However, when someone points a flaw in the third wave movement, they're resort to the "not all feminists are like this/that" argument. We get that feminists are not all like this, but consider this: male is a gender in which you can't get yourself out of while feminism is a movement in which you can get yourself out of. It's one way or the other, people!

From what I've seen lately, it seems like the third wave feminist movement is not living up to the original definition of feminism.

Instead of focusing on the "manspreading" (is that even an issue?), why not shift our focus to places where misogyny is more rampant and severe? I get that first world countries are not perfect either, but living in a country that is secular, democratic, and developed can make change easier.

Btw this is coming from a feminist (or egalitarian/humanist/whatever/idk but I believe in gender equality and I may drop the "feminist" label soon for personal reasons) who values the first and second waves.

And if you fave this stamp, then you hate women, including me who made this stamp! /s

Six months ago, if you told me fate decreed I'd be saving the world, I'd have laughed in your face and given fate the middle finger. But here I am: martial artist, design student, and now, demon ass-kicker. That dragon? It's mine. It chose me. According to my ancestors, that means I'm the savior of the world - no pressure. A few months from now, I won't be questioning fate, but you can bet I'll be standing victorious over the body of whatever this "Gargos" thing is, because I won't let it end any other way.

Actually, I think this is a rare example of the very opposite being true.
No no, hear me out on this.

Third wave feminism sprung up in opposition to second wave feminism, which suggested that for a women to be truly liberated, she must dress/speak/act/etc in ways that define her as living in opposition to problematic notions of how she is expected (generally by men) to behave.
Whereas third wave is largely based around the idea that a woman may dress/speak/act/etc anyway they choose, as long as they are truly doing so because that's what they want for themselves, EVEN IF what they want happens to fall in line with classical gender roles, eg. A woman might be a stay at home mother who works her ass off to take care of her family and who has no career prospects. If she's stuck in that life and she hates it, obviously there's a problem, BUT if she lives that way because that's actually how she wants to live her life and she genuinely enjoys it, then it still constitutes an act of feminism, or just general liberty.

With that in mind, surely the point is NOT to speak loudly, through words OR actions. But to just live the way you want, and not expect that to be a big deal, to anyone. Because if being able to live however one wants (within the law... obviously) is the ultimate goal than third wave feminists, then surely the mark of having succeeded will be when nobody take notice anymore.

1st World Feminists need to stop complaining about petty little problems that NOBODY gives a shit about.  If they think women are being oppressed and they want to help?

Why not haul your ass over to 3rd world countries where women are beaten, killed, they are forced to marry/married off as children, being raped, denied basic human rights and thing of that nature.  Until you actually do some shit, help women who actually need help, and stop using them to further your agenda when you practically ignore their existence, yet claim to be helping them, fuck off.

NOBODY cares about wage gaps or being ruled overwhelmingly by one gender or excluding women from military service?

And you're threatening to send feminists away to be raped and beaten if they don't shut up?

What a dumb shit.

I mean, things can always improve, but it is easier in first world countries, so you're right. However, they really need to stop with the whole "manspreading" hysteria and gendered products no gave a shit about until they created a Tumblr account.

Feminism isn't intersectional, that's why many non-white feminists use the term "white feminism" because it only includes white cis able-bodied females. And when they usually go to the 3rd would countries to "help" them, it's usually goes with "this woman is oppressed because she has to cover her head!" *points at a Muslim woman in a hijab*. The Muslim women would tell her "well, the hijab is my choice because Islam lets me choose what I wear and I want to be modes-" and the white feminist would shut her up in the name of being a white savior or some bullshit.

And they don't even give a shit about women
in the third world! They only say "I am a feminist

when in reality it makes them an ass.

And if we put one of those feminists to the Middle East

I live in a pretty sexist country, and to be honest most Western feminists are pretty fucking awesome. It saddens me to see the bad ones though. They ruin the movement and brain wash people into being sexist or hating feminism as a whole.

Not Romania. I live in Cyprus, when I made this account I was living in Romania and I never changed it,I thought i should but I wasn't sure if people would think it's weird? Well,I'll probably change it now.
Cyprus is a very traditional country, which means it's also highly sexist. It's actually (From what I've read) the most or one of the most sexist countries in Europe. For example, the wage gap is 16.4% Not to mention what's going on with people's opinions, even the young children. And yes it matters because that way parents stop their children from doing things they want to do in life because of their gender. That's when it goes too far.

Anyway, not all western feminists are bad like I said, but I do hope they'll become a lot better. I'm seeing incredible hate and ignorance form both sides (feminist and anti-feminist).

Other Person: Really? That's great! What are you doing to help this issue?
Feminist: I'm adressing the issues on Tumblr.
Other Person: O...kay. Uh, have you done anything outside social media?
Feminist: Huh? No.

the problem is nothing ever gets solved with a post on tumblr.

you can do more than just write an angry blog post about the man in front of you at the cashier taking 30 seconds to dig around in his wallet for the correct amount of change for the cashier.

The problem is more that they aren't addressing very important issues. (For example something like this, pikdit.com/i/why-were-there-no….) Not all feminists of course, just many of the radical ones.

Yeah, I phrased that comment completely wrong.

In my opinion, yes. As one (sorta) myself, most of the time we complain about the most trivial things, which reminds us of how privileged we are. I get the first world countries are not perfect, but I have the same rights as a male. We are able to be heard easier than our third world counterparts.

Third world feminists have perspective. They actually know oppression.

2016: Women able to own land
Women in ancient Sparta were able to own land...

and I'm pretty sure that I read that the MEN weren't allowed to own property...
primarily due to the fact that at that time, a man's only destiny... was to fight in wars.

2017: Women allowed to vote
sorry... the law that allowed women to vote was passed DECADES ago.

I don't get how people think American women are oppressed. We're not second class citizens. Sure, there are states that try to hinder access to abortion clinics, but those bills are struck down as unconstitutional. The US has abortion legalized since 1973 upon request. Still, we can vote (since 1920), we can own land, we can inherit wealth, go to school (and go to college as we damn please) without getting acid thrown at our faces, choose whom to marry, and a bunch of other stuff men can do. I bet the same thing goes to Irish women (with the exception of abortion, right?) with their rights.

I get that there are women out there who are deprived of those rights, but why focus on Western women like us? We should focus on where misogyny is actually prevalent.

Who the hell retweeted child porn????
